“Shine the Light on Solar Energy” Poster Contest Calling all young Long Island artists!! Do you know what solar energy is? What types of buildings, machines or other items would you like to see run on solar power? How could solar energy make Long Island a better place? Put your ideas and images on paper!
To commemorate the Summer Solstice, the longest and potentially sunniest day of 2009, children who live on Long Island and are in grades Kindergarten through 5 are invited to enter Built Well Solar Corp.’s “Shine the Light on Solar Energy” Poster Contest! We have extended the deadline for the contest. Entries must now be postmarked by the Summer Solstice, June 22, 2009.
Click here to download the official entry form.
Artwork must reflect the contest theme “Shine the Light on Solar Energy” and depict benefits of solar energy for our planet and Long Island in particular, and it should show solar power in use today or in the future. It might help to click here and read “Fun Facts about Solar Energy” for some ideas.
Check back here for the announcement of the winners and honorable mentions -- and to see their posters!! Results will be notified and announced by July 30, 2009.
